About the project:

Vietinbank IPay is the digital banking platform for one of Vietnam's four largest banks — a product used by millions of everyday Vietnamese people to manage their money. Capylabs was brought in to develop two critical feature modules: the in-app tax payment system, built to meet the Vietnamese government's strict digital tax submission requirements. It was our first time inside a project at this scale, with this level of institutional scrutiny.

Objectives:

Develop a tax payment module that complies fully with Vietnamese government requirements for digital tax submission — accurate, auditable, and legally sound in every respect
Meet the enterprise-grade security standards expected of one of Vietnam's most important financial institutions — rigorous, tested, and with zero tolerance for shortcuts
Navigate the strict regulatory and process requirements of working inside a major national bank without slowing the broader product team down

Our approach:

Working with one of Vietnam's biggest banks for the first time meant learning fast. There were layers of compliance requirements, internal approval processes, and security protocols we hadn't encountered before — and we adapted quickly and professionally
The tax payment module had to be built to government specification, which meant understanding not just the technical requirements but the regulatory intent behind each one. We approached it with the full seriousness it deserved
Security was the lens through which every technical decision was evaluated. With millions of users and real financial transactions on the line, there was no room for assumptions — only verified, thoroughly tested implementations

Results:

Two successfully delivered feature modules integrated into Vietinbank's IPay platform — live, compliant, and handling real tax submissions for Vietnamese users
A significant milestone for Capylabs: proving we could meet the exacting standards demanded by top-tier financial institutions and deliver with our reputation fully intact
