About the project:

TekDojo is a social learning platform built exclusively for students at TechMonk — a technology training institute that believes learning should be social, celebratory, and a little bit fun. It's a mini-network where students can show off their personality, publish their projects, and collect the achievements they've earned along the way. And for parents, it's a meaningful window into their child's growth — a place to keep up with progress and share those proud moments with the world.

Objectives:

  • Build a social platform where TechMonk students can express themselves, showcase their work, and feel genuinely recognized for what they've built and achieved during their learning journey
  • Give parents easy, meaningful access to their child's learning progress — not just grades and attendance, but the actual projects and milestones that show real growth
  • Create a community that students actually want to be part of — one that adds social energy and healthy motivation to the overall learning experience

Our approach:

  • We designed TekDojo with two very different users in mind at the same time: the student who wants a cool profile and a community that gets what they're building, and the parent who just wants to understand their child's progress without decoding technical jargon
  • The achievement and showcase system was designed to feel genuinely rewarding — not a checkbox exercise, but a real, visible record of what students had worked for and earned
  • The social features were kept positive by design: focused on sharing and celebrating rather than comparison and competition, so the community felt encouraging rather than stressful to be part of

Results:

  • A platform that students actually wanted to use — showcasing their work, connecting with classmates, and building a visible track record of what they'd learned and created
  • Parents who felt genuinely connected to their children's education for the first time — not through report cards, but through seeing real projects come to life
  • A community that grew naturally because students were proud to be part of it and excited to invite others in
